Yurts: Where can I rent one in Northern California?

Advice on how to get the most out of your travels!

Looking for an affordable, unforgettable way to enjoy Northern California nature? Try out a yurt! A yurt is an ancient shelter used by Central Asian nomads for centuries. The compact shape of the yurt and combination of lightweight members in tension and compression mean that the structure is highly efficient in maximizing strength while minimizing the use of materials.

These inexpensive, durable structures are popping up all up and down the California coast as unique options for adventurous, budget conscious, travelers. In the table below, I have gathered key information from the majority of yurt offerings in central and northern California. I focused mainly on yurts that are part of a resort or campground. There are more and more backyard yurts as part of family homes becoming available on Airbnb and other share sites so be sure to check those out as well. One of the top manufacturers of yurts, Pacific Yurts Incorporated, has a very comprehensive list of locations of yurts across the country. Check out their site for links to some of these privately owned yurts for rent. Happy Glamping!

  1. Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him smile So let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
