Yurts: Where can I rent one in Northern California?
Advice on how to get the most out of your travels!
These inexpensive, durable structures are popping up all up and down the California coast as unique options for adventurous, budget conscious, travelers. In the table below, I have gathered key information from the majority of yurt offerings in central and northern California. I focused mainly on yurts that are part of a resort or campground. There are more and more backyard yurts as part of family homes becoming available on Airbnb and other share sites so be sure to check those out as well. One of the top manufacturers of yurts, Pacific Yurts Incorporated, has a very comprehensive list of locations of yurts across the country. Yurts are 16 feet in diameter. No electricity at site. A full sized bed frame and mattress. 2 individual cots, are included in yurt. Bring your own bedding, and regular camping gear (flashlights, lanterns, cook stoves, coolers, chairs for around the fire ring, etc.). No cooking or fires allowed in Yurt. The Yurts are 500 yards from the creek. Reserve several months in advance for high season.

The Cabanas are luxury yurts tucked under the oak trees. The perfect choice for guests who prefer to be up close to nature, yet still want the towel warmer, high thread-count sheets, memory foam mattress and the warmth of a gas fireplace. The Cabanas are chicly outfitted with elegant finishings. All Cabanas have a king bed which can be converted to two twins, and a private detached bathroom. Guests also have access to the outdoor “Oborain” showers.

Furnished with a queen size bed and 2-lounge chairs. Includes a counter-top refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, bed linens and cable television. Convenient to the restroom and showers.

Each yurt provides a cabin-like space for a family of five or six people. The yurts sit on a wooden platform and have an electric light and space heater, but no additional electric plug-ins. Interior furnishings include a futon and bunk beds with mattresses. Cooking supplies and bedding are not provided.The campground is typically open from mid-May through mid-October.

Off river activities include swimming, tubing, campfire, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, gold panning, casino and table games. Our 30′ Pacific Yurt, is outfitted with bamboo flooring, heating and air conditioning, an electric fireplace in the bedroom area, microwave oven, small refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster oven, clawfoot tub and shower, a queen bed, a large deck area. You have private river access located next to the Strawhouse Cafe’. Onsite coffee farm.
